Jaikoz Audio Tagger (formerly known as Jaikoz MP3 Tag Editor) is a tool for changing the meta-tags of your MP3 files. If these tags aren't created correctly, your music collection won't be organized as well as it could be. The problem is that sometimes, no matter how hard you try, ID3 tags just won't edit for some reason or keep being removed, deleted or corrupted. Not to mention the fact that going through music files one by one is painfully slow. Jaikoz Audio Tagger aims to deal with such problems, by giving you the power to edit the ID3 tags of almost any file type (not just MP3s as the name suggests). Jaikoz MP3 Tag Tagger supports tagging of MP4, M4A, M4P, MP3, WMA, Flac and Ogg Vorbis files although the developer is constantly releasing new versions that support an ever increasing number of formats. Jaikoz Audio Tagger doesn't necessarily require you to manually add data though.

The Jaikoz Audio Tag Editor is a powerful yet simple to use tool that allows you to organize, edit and correct.
It uses MusicBrainz which is an online database of over seven million songs which have tags automatically attached to them by MusicIP, allowing a song to be identified by the actual music, so it can perform a match even if you have no metadata. This means that Jaikoz Audio Tagger can automatically tag songs as soon as they are loaded into the interface although as is to be expected, the success rate can be rather hit and miss. For those that aren't tagged correctly, you can manually edit them. You can edit absolutely everything and even add fields such as the original song writer and mood of the song. Some of this is clearly not essential and it would take you at least five minutes to tag every song with all the available fields.
The most impressive thing is the way Jaikoz Audio Tagger handles formats - it seems that no matter what you throw at it, it can edit it. If your audio collection is incorrectly tagged or you've been struggling to edit your tracks, Jaikoz Audio Tagger is more than powerful enough for most of your needs. By Anonymous Well worth the money. Built in Java this one works. It has just tagged my Itunes library 4370 songs while I walk the dog. Very impressi ve integration with the Imac. Why the hell Apple didn't fix it all in Itunes baffles me.
Still an excellent add on that works. Good documentation too. I am now using the latest version which has some important fixes. Pros: Uses multiple research tools. Integrates with Itunes. Fixes Artwork. You are also able to over ride the auto settings.
Able to run a large folder with subfolders by batching. Pays a royalty to Music Brainz:-) Free upgrades for life, both big and small. Cons: Well it does take time. Walk the dog or make a nice coffee (or lunch!) But then what do you expect. Reviewed on January 21, 2012. Articles about Jaikoz Audio Tagger.
Jaikoz for Mac updates the metadata of your music files using one of several available online databases. The app comes with a trial mode in which you can edit 20 tracks at once - during our testing the accuracy was 95 percent. Apart from the minor tagging inaccuracies, the app suffers from a few hindrances and usability problems. When launching Jaikoz for Mac, you will notice that iTunes will automatically launch as well, but contrary to expectations, the iTunes library will not be automatically loaded; You have to go into settings, and point the app to your Music folder.
The main interface looks clean, with filters, customizable toolbar buttons for the most important functions, and drag-and-drop integration for adding tracks. After loading 20 tracks, it took Jaikoz approximately three minutes to match them and suggest updates. When we deliberately introduced duplicate tracks with slightly differing metadata, the app successfully managed to flag them for deletion. Other options include moving deleted tracks to a folder instead of the Trash, setting default actions for each tag when updating from an online database, and configuring detailed autocorrect and word exclusion or replacement rules when auto-updating. If you have a large music library with missing tags or cover art, a tool like Jaikoz for Mac will help you sort it out. While this premium software does its job well, with a small margin for error, issues like having to press a 'save' button in order to confirm duplicate file deletion make it annoying at times. This app is useful, but there's plenty of room for improvement.
Editors' note: This is a review of the trial version of Jaikoz for Mac 6.1.0. Are you frustrated by missing information in your audio files? This is known as metadata and is stored in a Tag. The Jaikoz Audio Tag Editor is a powerful yet simple to use tool that allows you to organize, edit and correct thousands of these tags with ease.
Jaikoz uses MusicBrainz, an online database of over 6 million songs. Many of these songs also have an Acoustic Id provided by MusicIP, allowing a song to be identified by the actual music, so it can do a match even if you have no metadata. These feature means that Jaikoz gives you the flexibility to lookup your songs by both the acoustic id and the metadata making Jaikoz a very accurate tool. But no identification system is 100% accurate so we have made it as quick and easy as possible to edit your data manually as well using a convenient spreadsheet view, with many autoformatting features.
